對時尚攝影新銳陳志誠Cheng Chen來說，旅居紐約的那兩年是一段很棒的歷練。2007年他隻身遠赴來到了紐約，以第一助理的身份參與Jason Armstrong Beck的拍攝計劃，並協助Dima Hohlov執行專案，成天在攝影棚與工作室之間往來穿梭，在這座脈動迅速的大都會裡，他的腳步始終未停，快門從沒有一刻稍止。

在這段期間他開始留意關注腳邊的風景，很快學會觀察這座城市隱而未顯的層次變化。

紐約就像是一個曖昧的存在，充滿各種看不見，聞嗅不到的抽象顏色、氣味與光度，漫佈在地下鐵、人行道、以及城市當中數不盡的黑闇甬道當中，它們有如一層薄薄的灰霧，戲劇性地掩覆著整個天際線。

陳志誠選擇利用每天通勤的空檔，隨機蒐集沿途的垃圾。它們可能來自街頭、巴士站，或是地下鐵處。他假想每一樣事物都是由斷斷續續的短期旅程組成，任憑人來人往、風吹雨打，沒有人曉得它們在大街上究竟待了多久，五分鐘？三天？一個禮拜？或者是十年？

通過紀錄拍攝那些被壓扁變形的瓶蓋菸盒，被遺落扔棄的零碎物件，重新如實掌握紐約這個龐然集合體的原始面貌。

本次展出為陳志誠返國後的首檔個展，同時也是新世代藝廊S+S Gallery繼謝易瑾「Les Seuls」後再次推出的平面攝影展，2/5（五）開幕當天，現場並預將發售陳志誠個人第一本限定攝影ZINE。

那是一段獨自在異鄉生活的日子
That was a period that I stayed alone in a foreign country
每天走路的時候
When I was walking.
清晨等候巴士的時候
When I was waiting for the bus in the early morning,
夜半從地鐵站返回租處的時候
When I was walking back to my place from the subway station in the late night
在路上
往往會不經意地發現這些小玩意兒
I incidentally discovered these little things on the street
它們擁有一種獨特的形態樣貌
They have unique shapes and appearances
每一樣都留下了時間的痕跡
They had remained the scar of time
每一樣都讓我好奇從何而來
展開它們自己的流浪旅程
They make me curious about where they are from and how they started their wandering jouney.

2006 - 2008  專職商業攝影師助理
2007 - 2009  旅居美國紐約兩年

旅美期間

參加 國際攝影中心 ICP (International Center of Photography) 選修課程
協助 攝影家 Jason Armstrong Beck,以第一助理的身份參與拍攝 "The Immortals"
