我從2004年開始拍攝這個主題。初到紐約，除了文化差異外，最讓

我感到玩味的是常會身處在一種「既熟悉又疏離」的矛盾與衝突的狀

態。這些照片雖然都拍攝於紐約市，但我想傳達的是人們身處於都市

中都會遭遇到的歸屬、疏離感之間的矛盾。這也是我生活在異地對於

生活的疑問、迷戀及對個人定位的一個想法表達。都市叢林中, 每個

人都私藏著一段屬於自己的私密情感，如同這些街頭寫實攝影，交織

出一幅人生浮世繪。透過鏡子或玻璃的倒影，透過刻意創造的物理距

離，來拉近觀者與被攝者心理的距離; 將不同的心情故事，轉化成一

個個的線索及問號，讓觀者去好奇、去思考。

The urban landscape creates the juxtaposition of the single

person living anonymously, with the creation of the “collective self”

built by the masses. One can view how this juxtaposition plays out

in almost every corner of any city.

The displacement and longing in searching out your identity in an

anonymous landscape is countermanded by the sense that the

collective self is also feeling those same emotions. The push and

pull; inside and out.
